PSP Owners Hear My Plea!
I got a PSP for Christmas and already I've feeling obsessive compulsive with how many times I've whiped the thing with my cloth. Little did I know that the cloth can actually scratch the screen so instead of making it better, I put a bunch of Micro Scratches on it but those can be fixed. For those who don't know, it's not the cloth that scratches it but the little dust particles that you whipe across the screen. Anyway, how do you clean the thing? I'm getting really repetitive with how many times I stop to clean it. Thanks in advanced!

oh yeah... the dreaded screen of death. It drives me crazy everytime i see dusts or little marks on my PSP. Therefore i put on a screen protector than i can wipe it with cloth without fearing it scratch the screen. Also since the PSP is black painted, the surface of the unit get finger prints and marking on it. Therefore (i know its weird) but i play my PSP with a pair of gloves or just don't wipe my unit till a month later cuz i HATES dusts and stuffs on my PSP!..
MY precious!!!!

I suggest filling the sink up with soapy water and dunking your PSP in it profusely.. Yeah that will get the dust off of it..

I suggest you to give me all your golds and items in case your account is gone!
Or put your PSP inside a microwave, it will remove those dusts!

*Sigh* Real answers? Btw I know about the screen protector but that's not going to be what removes what's already there.

the only thing u can do is carefully wipe clean the screen and put on the cover, that is it. Nothing more you can do. i know it is so pretty to look at and u dont want any finger prints or dust at all. BUT u need to take chances anyway, as long as your game screen is fine, you are cool! Its like the ipod Nano black, man I see so many small scratches from bein in my pocket
Maybe get that nice logitech case as well for ur PSP, sturdy and nice looking, AND u can play the PSP while in the case.

If you are brave enough, you can try to find the specially made electronics cleaners. I'd think some of the stuff that is safe for TV screens and computer monitors should work.

Some PDA-users swear by car leather/vynyl protection products like STP-Son-Of-A-Gun. You could also try clear coat waxes and buffing to minimize scratches. Both solutions have their own risks. As for me, I just clean my PSP with microfiber lense cloths. Scratches will still occur occasionally, but once you have lots of micro scratches evenly dotting the surface, it won't look so bad.
Lastly, putting a screen protector on the PSP will put another reflective contact surface over the screen, thereby hiding all previous scratches quite well. You won't see them, even under reflected light.

The cloth doesn't scratch it o_O Wash that static cloth, there must be sand or something in it. My PSP is fine, nice and clean and I don't even have the damn cloth anymore - I dropped it somewhere. I just clean it with my teeshirt, and every now and then, I take a papertowl, squirt some Windex in it, let it soak in then wipe down the PSP. Works fine.

Windex, really? Won't damage it? Btw I know the cloth doesn't scratch it, it's the dust particles between the cloth and the screen that do.

Just don't squirt it ON The PSP - you squirt it on the TOWEL.

You can purchase microfiber lense cloth from many places: Office Depot, Circuit City, The Sunglass Hut, etc... lots of retailers carry similar eye-glass cleaning specialty cloths. They're fairly cheap too.

I use spectacle lens cleaning solution on my mobile phone screen and other small screens. Of course you never know so I test in a small place first.
For things I definitely don't want to screw up like computer screens I use STOREX (TM) 100 SCREEN CLEANING TISSUES they are "specially designed for TFT, LCD, PDA, Laptop and Scanner screens" They don't have alcohol either. I trust these wipes and they always worked well for me. You can check their site www.storexsolutions.com but you could probably find something similar in any computer store just make sure it is designed for screens.
EDIT: I can't find those wipes on their site!! Disclaimer: if it borks your screen it's not my fault :P
